Also searched as a traffic marshal test. Ray Walters carries out NPORS assessments at your own premises, anywhere in the UK. He is based in Northampton on the M1 in the middle of England. Call 07984 357997.
Ray is an NPORS plant machinery assessor.
Over 20 years operating plant before assessing.
Assessments carried out across the UK.
NPORS calls this category N403 Vehicle Marshal. Many people search for this as a traffic marshal test. It is the same ticket. The subjects below come from the NPORS learning outcomes.
Subjects every NPORS category covers:
What is specific to N403:
Hand signals. Using hand signals to direct the driver of a vehicle or the operator of a machine.
Setting up an exclusion zone. Setting up an area kept clear so vehicles, plant and people on foot are not in the same space.
Guiding vehicles and plant forwards. Signalling a vehicle or machine while it is travelling forwards.
Guiding vehicles and plant in reverse. Signalling a vehicle or machine while it is reversing.
The NPORS outcomes describe the subjects covered, not how anyone is marked. Ray will confirm what the assessment covers for your site and the vehicles and plant in use when you call.
If you already do the job and need the ticket, it is the experienced worker test, and if the role is new to you, it is the novice course and test, so call Ray if you are not sure which fits. NPORS has three operator cards, the traditional card and the CSCS red and blue cards, see [how the cards work](https://walterstraining.com/certification/), and Ray will confirm what needs to be in place on the day when you call.
For vehicle marshals who already have the experience and need a first card, a renewal, an expired card sorted or N403 added to an existing card.
For people who are new to the role and need training as well as the assessment.
If you are booking more than one ticket on the same visit, call Ray first.
Working safely around excavations and buried services.
Moving plant for non operational duties, not an operator’s ticket. NPORS: Plant Mover, non operational duties.
