Ray Walters carries out the NPORS N010 telehandler assessment, which NPORS calls Telescopic Handler, at your own premises on your own telehandler. Based in Northampton, Ray works anywhere in the UK.
Assessment carried out in person by Ray Walters, NPORS plant machinery assessor.
On your site, on your own telehandler, anywhere in the UK.
Over 20 years operating plant in construction, groundworks, waste and recycling, scrap metal and general industry before becoming an assessor.
NPORS training and testing follows course objectives drawn from the National Occupational Standards. Every NPORS plant category assessment follows the same overall shape.
That general shape includes: safety law and the operator’s duties; the manufacturer’s handbook; the main parts and controls; PPE; pre-use and running checks and reporting defects; getting on and off, starting, stopping and travelling; checks of the work area; the work itself; loading and unloading for transport; shutting down and making the machine secure.
The NPORS learning outcomes published in June 2019 do not include N010, so this page does not list telehandler specific subjects, and nothing here is taken from another provider’s checklist.
Ray will go through it with you on the phone and confirm exactly what your N010 assessment covers, for your machine and your site, when you call and before the booking is agreed.
Already operating telehandlers at work and need the card to prove it? That is the experienced worker test. New to the machine? That is the novice course. Renewals, expired cards and adding N010 to a card you already hold all start with the same phone call. If you are booking several operators, say how many when you call and Ray will advise. Which NPORS card you end up with is explained on the [certification page](https://walterstraining.com/certification/). How an on-site test day is arranged is on the [NPORS testing page](https://walterstraining.com/npors-testing/).
Assessment for operators who already have telehandler experience at work.
Training and then assessment for operators who are new to the telehandler.
For lifting loads on slings or straps from a telehandler.
For attaching loads and directing the lift.
For guiding lorries and deliveries around a busy site or yard.
