Ray Walters carries out the NPORS N133 Plant Machinery Marshal test, often called a plant marshal ticket, on your site, anywhere in the UK. Ray is based in Northampton and travels to you.
Ray Walters, NPORS plant machinery assessor.
Ray operated plant in construction, groundworks, waste and recycling, scrap metal and general industry before becoming an assessor.
On-site NPORS assessments across the UK.
This section is based on the NPORS learning outcomes. They describe the subjects covered, not how a candidate is marked.
Like other NPORS categories, N133 covers core subjects such as safety law and your duties, the manufacturer’s handbook for the machines being marshalled, personal protective equipment (PPE), checks of the work area and reporting defects and hazards.
Hand signals are a core part of N133. The published outcomes include the standard hand signals used on UK sites, so directions to the machine operator are clear and consistent.
Exclusion zones are also covered. An exclusion zone is a defined area that people and other plant must stay out of while machinery is moving.
Guiding machines forwards and in reverse is included as well. This matters most where space is tight, the site is busy or the operator has limited visibility.
NPORS sets the scheme rules and outcomes, see NPORS testing.
The published outcomes are high level, so Ray will confirm what the assessment covers for your site and the plant being marshalled.
If you already marshal plant on site, you are usually looking for an experienced worker test. If you are new to the role, you are usually looking for a novice course. Call Ray and he will tell you which route fits. NPORS sets the card routes, including cards that carry the CSCS logo. See [certification](https://walterstraining.com/certification/) for the detail.
For people already marshalling plant who need a first card, a renewal, an expired card sorted or N133 added to an existing NPORS card.
For people new to marshalling plant. Call Ray to confirm the route for N133.
Phone 07984 357997 and confirm you need N133, how many people you need booking in and where the site is.
Ray confirms the date and what needs to be available on site for the assessment.
Ray comes to your premises and carries out the assessment himself. [About Ray](https://walterstraining.com/about-us/)
