Ray Walters carries out the NPORS N204 forward tipping dumper test at your premises, on your own machine, anywhere in the UK. He is an NPORS plant machinery assessor based in Northampton.
Ray is an NPORS plant machinery assessor.
Over 20 years operating plant before becoming an assessor.
Based on the M1, working on site across the UK.
This page is for employers booking several operators and for individual operators who need a first card, a renewal, an expired card sorted, or an extra category added.
Every category in the NPORS learning outcomes (June 2019) covers the same general ground: safety law and the operator’s duties, the manufacturer’s handbook, the main parts and controls, PPE, pre-use and running checks, getting on and off, starting, stopping and travelling, checks of the work area, the work itself, loading and unloading for transport, and shutting down and securing the machine.
For N204 forward tipping dumpers, the NPORS learning outcomes (June 2019) add five subjects that belong to the dumper:
Haul routes. The routes the dumper runs on around your site, between where it is loaded and where it tips.
Carrying capacity. How much the dumper can carry.
Tipping on a slope. Tipping where the ground is not level.
Stability with the skip raised. How steady the dumper is while the skip is up.
Use on the road. Driving the dumper on a road, as well as on site.
For a plain overview of how on-site NPORS testing works, see NPORS testing. Ray will confirm what the assessment covers for your dumper and your site when you call.
If you already operate a forward tipping dumper, you are likely to want the experienced worker test. If you are new to the machine, the novice course is the route. NPORS has three operator cards, the traditional card and the CSCS red and blue cards, explained on the [certification page](https://walterstraining.com/certification/).
For operators with real forward tipping dumper experience. The assessment is carried out on your own machine at your own site, against the NPORS N204 category standard.
For someone new to the forward tipping dumper, with training and testing to the same NPORS category standard.
The NPORS category for rear tipping dumpers, assessed on your own machine.
The NPORS category for the forward tipping mini dumper up to 1 tonne.
The NPORS category for the 360 excavator, assessed on your own machine.
